The Economics of "Nice"

What was the last time you mentored someone? There is a misconception that mentorship is charity. We tend to view it as a "nice thing to do" when we have extra time aka a soft, fuzzy act of altruism that sits outside the "real work" of business.

But at WERULE, we view mentorship through a different lens. We see it as Economic Physics.

AI can give you a map of the territory. It can list every road and every landmark. But only a human mentor can tell you which paths are safe, which ones are swamps, and which ones look like shortcuts but are actually dead ends.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.
Mentorship is knowing how to sell the fruit salad to a skeptical investor.

As data becomes infinite, human context becomes the scarcest, most valuable asset on earth. The Algorithm of Karma bets that in 2026, people will not pay for "answers." They will pay for the perspective that tells them which question to ask.

The "Tacit" Code (Polanyi’s Paradox)

Why can't we just upload everything to a database? Why do we still need to sit in a room (or a Zoom) with another human being?

The answer lies in a concept called Polanyi’s Paradox, named after the philosopher Michael Polanyi. He famously stated: "We know more than we can tell".

Most of what makes a founder successful is Tacit Knowledge. It is the gut feeling. It is the ability to read the silence in a negotiation. It is the intuition of when to push a team and when to let them rest.

This knowledge cannot be written down in a handbook. It cannot be scraped by an algorithm, because it doesn't live in text. It lives in the "residue of know-how" that we carry in our minds.

Tacit knowledge can only be transferred through Osmosis.
