I’m a business and marketing coach, as well as the founder of the Health Bloggers Community (HBC). With HBC, my goal is to inspire bloggers to collaborate with brands and pursue their dreams and passions through four key pillars: share, learn, collaborate, and discover. I recognized a significant need in the industry when I started two years ago—health bloggers were virtually nonexistent at that time. Now, I can confidently say they’re emerging as the next wave of influencers, especially since health is the third fastest-growing industry. I’m here to support, inspire, and guide individuals, and through the HBC, I can reach hundreds instead of just a few private clients at a time.

With over 15 years of marketing experience, I’ve been passionate about building relationships online long before it became the trendy thing to do. I’m also an award-winning author, entrepreneur, and marketing consultant dedicated to helping busy professionals reclaim their time. As the CEO and head teacher of Alt Marketing School, I support individuals striving to make a positive impact through their marketing efforts.

For the past decade, I’ve assisted startups and entrepreneurs in starting, scaling, and marketing their own brands. My work has been featured in prominent publications such as The Next Web, Business Insider, and Forbes, and I’ve had the privilege of touching the lives of over 10,000 people from around the world.

How important is community building to you? What are some tips you can give on building a lasting community?

Community building is, needless to say, essential if you are running a community. It’s not as easy as some may think though. We have been going on for 18 months and we are still just starting. I have three tips for you: first, make loads of mistakes. Only by doing that you will learn to let it go and have people tell you what they want without attachments. Second, become a good listener. An amazing listener, actually: you know, they say we have 2 ears and one mouth for a reason. Third, keep reassessing where you are going and what you are doing, and make sure you are ready to with gear swiftly if needed.

Can anyone become a successful entrepreneur if they are really passionate about something? Does it take a special kind of a person?

Anyone should / can try to do so. Working on your own passion is the most intense self-development work that can be done: it challenges you as a person, and I believe it does help people questioning themselves and where they are doing in life. That said, not everyone succeeds, or not everyone is ready to be the person in charge. I know loads of people who have the initiative, the excitement, the drive and they are amazing as sidekicks, inspired people looking to support other people’s dreams. It’s a very controversial question, I hope this controversial answer does make sense!

Is it important to be OK with change while running your own business? How do you become better at accepting it?

As I mentioned a few times, changes are everywhere. Life is a slinky, and changes are part of the flow of life. Without change, there is no growth. To me change is a sign of successful life and business. I personally learnt that, in a search of clarity and stability, the true stability I had to seek for was deep inside me, not in the outside world. When things change so quickly and intensely around us, it’s important we keep ourselves sane and strong embracing the changes instead of fighting them. This is an invaluable lesson in life to apply in business, that most people don’t even get confronted with.

What part of your personality helped you the most?

I guess it’s a combination of stubbornness and being a very fast learner. Being a fast learner allowed me to pick up most of my expertise and try different businesses and avenues throughout the past few years. Stubbornness is powerful when things are going badly. Stubbornness also allowed me to reconsider my definition of success and failure. Once you redefine what success and failure mean to you, you’ll be able to feel fulfilled everyday, and avoid failure at all cost.

Any last inspirational words?

To stop doing what you should do, to focus on what you WANT to do. Start doing more of what you love every day, and you will see how everything slots into place.
