I’m Chandler J. Esq, founder of Lethal Legal, a global intellectual property law firm. We help entrepreneurs get ownership over their brand and protect their pockets so they can keep more money in the bank. Since 2019, Lethal Legal has been the secret weapon behind hundreds of brands, from startups to 7-figure empires. We're not just about slapping a trademark on your brand; we're your allies in building a legacy.
What motivated you to become an entrepreneur ? Is having your own business something you always wanted?
Running my own law firm was never on my bucket list. However, when I graduated law school I was faced with the stark reality of choices: 1) Take a typical job in the legal field and force myself into the stereotypical “attorney” box or 2) Bet on myself, risk non-conformity, and start my own firm. I chose the latter. I refused to be an attorney if it meant I couldn’t be myself. So I decided to take things into my own hands, and do things my way. That’s when Lethal Legal was born.
What advice would you give to someone starting out or pivoting their business or their career?
Whatever you’ve been told your whole life is your biggest weakness (aka you’re too loud, you’re too bossy, you’re too eccentric) is actually your greatest superpower. Lean into it, hard. Those are the pieces that make you stand out. They make you unique. & those exact qualities will be the ones that lead you to the greatest success.
What is the most important when it comes to goal setting? Do you have any goal setting hacks?
Your mindset. You have to believe that it’s possible for you to achieve. If you’re setting goals that feel too unrealistic, they won’t happen. You have to believe in yourself and go after your goals with unwavering doubt. When you set a goal, create a plan to achieve that goal. This is Plan A. Throw away all ideas that Plan B is even a possibility. There is no Plan B unless Plan A fails & giving yourself a Plan B is insinuating that Plan A is going to fail. Don’t give yourself that option.
