“Let's Talk Impact” Podcast with Khloe Thompson, Founder @ Khloe Kares Who Is Also An International Philanthropist, Author & Public Speaker

Who is Khloe Thompson?

Khloe founded Khloe Kares to help homeless women and has sewn and distributed more than 4,000 tote bags filled with toiletries and essentials. She began her work as an 8-year-old after passing the same homeless people on her walk to school each day. On top of that, she does international work where she provides youth with access to clean water and teaches young leaders around her age how they can also start their non-profits and make their communities a better place to grow up in. As she says on her LinkTree page she is just here on a mission to change the world & she is truly doing it. If Khloe decided takes over the whole world, we're here for it!

Tiny Hands, Big Ideas: Why Kids Running Nonprofits Can Change the World

We often underestimate the power of young minds. But kids are brimming with creativity, compassion, and a drive to make a difference. Here's why empowering them to run non-profits can be a game-changer for both the world and their own development:

Cultivating Empathy and Social Responsibility:

Non-profits expose kids to real-world issues, from animal welfare to environmental protection. By actively working towards solutions, they develop empathy for those in need and a sense of responsibility for their communities. This fosters lifelong values of social awareness and civic engagement.

Building Leadership and Problem-Solving Skills:

Running a non-profit requires initiative, organization, and teamwork. Kids learn to lead by example, delegate tasks, and brainstorm creative solutions to overcome challenges. These valuable leadership and problem-solving skills will serve them well in all aspects of life.

Learning Through Action:

Non-profits provide a unique platform for experiential learning. Kids don't just read about environmental issues - they organize clean-up drives. They don't just hear about animal welfare - they volunteer at shelters. This hands-on approach makes learning engaging and reinforces the impact they can have.

Empowering Youth and Changing the Narrative:

Kids are often seen as passive recipients of information. Non-profits allow them to be active agents of change. They gain confidence in their abilities and discover the power they hold to make a positive impact. This not only benefits the causes they champion but also fosters a generation of young leaders who believe they can solve the world's biggest problems.

So how can kids get started? Here are a few ideas:

  • Identify a Cause: Talk to your child about issues they care about. From animal rescue to promoting literacy, the possibilities are endless!

  • Start Small, Dream Big: Begin with a project they can manage, like organizing a bake sale or a neighborhood clean-up drive.

  • Spread the Word: Utilize social media and local platforms to raise awareness about their cause and encourage participation from friends and family.

  • Seek Guidance: Connect with local non-profits or community centers for mentorship and support.
