BASED IN: SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA

Maria Von Losch is a life & style expert, digital content creator, social influencer and media personality and the CEO at Savvynista. Amidst the excitement and sometimes madness of her many roles and spontaneous schedule she lives the life of not only a Fashionista but a Passionista. With an artistic approach to fashion, she has built a career inspiring others to live well and look fabulous.

Based in San Diego, CA, Maria grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and business owners, which fueled her first fashion venture. After studying graphic design and fine arts, she took the leap in opening a vintage boutique independently. Maria’s work in fashion and business naturally progressed into her styling projects. Her portfolio of work now spans from styling fashion editorials to writing articles for print and digital publications, in addition to commercial and television projects.

Maria’s strategy for piecing together the perfect ensemble involves pulling together elements from all walks of life. The creative eye behind the blog Savvynista, Maria provides readers a savvy perspective on style and beauty, as well as insight into her Shop My Closet journey.

What has helped this female entrepreneur quickly launch her career? Utilizing a network built upon honesty and integrity. “Everyone can build his or her own network. You have to go out and talk with people, never burn bridges and always keep your word and follow through,” shared Maria.

What do you do?

I’m a life & style expert, digital content creator, social influencer and media personality. I’m a multi-passionate creative architect, bringing brands to life with visual stories through styling, photography, writing, and video production.

In your own words, what does it mean to be Passionista?

Being a Passionista for me is about you making your life happen instead of letting life just happen to you.

What has been your key to success throughout your entrepreneurial journey?

Follow through and follow up, listening, research, consistency and relationships.

Is it important to have mentors and mentor other people? Why?

Yes, mentorship is valuable and I wish there was more of it. You can't receive it if you don’t give it and vice versa.

What are some ways we can inspire other women and young girls to start their own businesses and build them to last?

Encouragement, providing tools and being a resource/mentor for them. Holding them accountable on a weekly basis, this is something I still need.

What does success mean to you? What does it mean to “be successful”? Can it ever be fully achieved or is it something that comes and goes?

The word “success” used to mean that I had all the “material” stuff and millions of dollars in my bank account. Now, I view success from a very different perspective. Like, waking up happy and smiling every morning is a success, getting a few things off my “to do” list is a success, making sure my family is healthy and happy is a success. I believe people define success in many different ways. These days it’s about how my insides look and feel as oppose to my outsides.

What is one (or more) piece of advice you can offer our readers and other entrepreneurs that are reading your interview? What is the most important to keep in mind?

Comparison is a focus killer and self-esteem crusher. Instead try to start each day with a list of 5 to 10 things you’re grateful for that day. This can help set a positive tone for the day.
