As a career strategist, coach and public speaker. I have started my own business in less than two years after leaving my maternity country. I believe work, passion and ambitious visions will bring you a satisfaction and fullfilment in what you want to do professionally. I know passion can be your job and if I’ve done it, you can do it too.. I show my clients there are no limits in the world, you could be your best motivation or worst enemy.
Is there one “rookie mistake” that new entrepreneurs keep on making? What is it? Did it happen to you?
Giving up too easily and quickly.
I think there is just one mistake, very common for entrepreneurs and for most of society in the world; giving up too easily very often without even really trying. . It’s never going to be perfect for the first time and you can expect some ups and downs, happy and sad days, but by simply trying you are already a winner. There were times in my life when I felt down, when I made mistakes which cost me a lot of money or lost business opportunities. However, every time I stood up,I learnt a lesson and move forward. As soon as you realize that being an entrepreneur is a learning curve full of emotions, your business will grow, expand and be more successful.
What made you choose this type of business? Why? What other markets are you interested in?
When I was 12 years old, I wanted to be a war journalist. I didn’t know why, but I thought I would be interesting. When I learnt how to be professional in that field I realised why I wanted to do this. The reason was simple: showing the truth people, what they really have inside, who they are and can become. Today this is my job. As a career coach I show people, that they can do what they love and love what they do. Dreams about enjoying your work time can become a reality and all you need is a commitment, and patience. Real journalism is still close to my head but I think this both sectors are really close to each other, as both connection people, show reality and sometimes gives a hope (or the should do).
What is failure? Do you think it’s a crucial part of success?
Lesson. Which needs to help us understand the world, teach humility and remains why you do what you do. I think failure is beginning of success. If I wasn't fired form my day job, I will never create this business because I was scared and have a comfortable choice. But when the choice disappears, then you need to make a decision what to do next. My pride was hurt and a huge lesson that you cannot lie to yourself and if you are not dedicated to something else, don't do it. We have just one life and those all wasted minutes will never be back, so sometimes take a risk and go for your better future.
Who is the one super successful person you look up to? Why them? Can you share their quote/ideology that inspires you the most?
Richard Branson is my hero, one of my biggest inspirations over past 10 years. His crazy way of life is showing that all can happen if you want by using your creativity. It makes me pushing my business out of comfort zone, take actions which are not common for people and create a vision which is 100% correct with me, not with common rules of the world. I hope one day I can meet him and say: thank you for giving me a hope when nobody else believed in myself.
The most inspiring quote is: ‘Too many people measure how successful they are by how much money they make or the people that they associate with. In my opinion, true success should be measured by how happy you are.’
What helped you get to where you are right now?
My curiosity and unstoppable vision of my future. My goal wasn’t clear from the beginning and over the past few years I was continually looking for myself by trying a lot of things which didn’t give me happiness. My parents teach me to keep looking until I was happy. So I did. I remember my first time on stage with my speech, just to try another thing in my life. And the feeling: this is it. Some people tells me I’m lucky, but I can definitely answer: I worked very hard and after few long years of putting myself at risk and a lot of pressure, changing my job without any financial support, trying, learning and dreaming. So if this is your definition of being lucky, it is true: I'm lucky.
Did your life change since becoming an entrepreneur? How?
Being an entrepreneur helped me to understand that there are no limits and helped me see a lot of opportunities on the market. If you want to live abroad and have a business in different country, it is possible. If you want to meet inspiring people from other nations or take part in some important event, it is possible too. If you are young and want to rock a business world, do it. But you need those four wheels: passion, confidence, fearlessness and excitement. Without it your entrepreneurial journey can finish before it actually starts.
