What do you do?

I am a licensed esthetician that created  a skin care line called Havyn (pronounced Haven), which is derived from naturally sourced ingredients. Havyn's mission is to provide  ethically conscious products that will help alleviate their skincare concerns on an effective and consistent basis.

What is the best part about being an entrepreneur? What is the worst/hardest part?

The best part of being an entrepreneur is that I am an ENTREPRENEUR! I think, I believe, I create, therefore I am!, I'm living with a purpose and there is nothing sweeter than living in your own skin with a purpose.

Most entrepreneurs say that it’s hard to trust other people with their own business and that delegating is hard to learn. What do you think? Was it hard for you? How did you overcome it?

It is hard to trust and it isn't, if they're going to steal they are going to steal that’s the reality of it. Overcome it by  realizing regardless it's going to happen and the safest thing you can do is  get your company trademarked ha!

How do you keep yourself motivated when you can’t keep going anymore?

When I don't feel I can go on anymore sometimes, not to often , I allow myself to feel the pain. Now more times than often,  I  allow myself to take a deep breath, I allow myself to rethink, rehash, and step a way to come back with a better way.

How important is your network? Is there such thing as doing it alone? What is your view on “solopreneurs”?

It is so important to network! If you showed me a person who did it by THEMSELVES... I'd give you a side eye. Through networking, I've garnered a website designer, mentor, label designer, accountant, etc; the dart may not have hit the bulls eye every single time I've networked with someone, but I can't deny the effect of networking  because when it worked it worked great!

What is one (or more) piece of advice you can offer our readers and other entrepreneurs that are reading your interview? What is the most important to keep in mind?

I want you to realize that you are an entrepreneur, regardless if you started off in your home or outside your home, you started. This journey is sweet and grueling, disappointing and exhilarating, lonely and rewarding, IT IS NOT A STRAIGHT PATH and DON'T YOU GIVE UP!. I want you to keep in mind that overnight success in reality could be 10 years but within that time you will gain unprecedented strength, tenacity and vigor.
