Do you come from an entrepreneurial family?

My family is somewhat entrepreneurial- everyone works off of contracts. My father and brother are both in government contract work.

What do you love the most about your lifestyle? Do you have any difficulties?

I value my freedom about all else. I don't mind keeping somewhat weird hours if it means that if I feel like taking a 2 hour lunch or dropping in to a midday yoga class, it is totally possible. It can be difficult to stay on track some guys, and it can be overwhelming at times when deadlines are approaching, contracts are due, clients want a post updated and your house is a mess.

How important is it to develop a good network? How did it help you personally?

I think when you are an entrepreneur, your network can be your lifeline. I have been introduced to new clients by friends, and I am constantly referring people work.

What is the best piece of advice you can give to someone who doesn't want to live the conventional "9-5" lifestyle?

Life is too short to be miserable, go and live your dream. Take the steps you need to take to get there. Plan ahead. Save money. Do your research and development. Find a mentor.
