Mighty Well transforms the patient experience through innovative products and community. The medical apparel industry is valued at $40 billion globally, yet the market is fragmented, with no leading brand. We call this new segment, Wellness Wear™, and we are positioning ourselves to be the Under Armour of healthcare.

At Mighty Well, as patients and caregivers ourselves, we know there’s room for improvement. We know how cold a hospital room can get and how awkward it is to pull out a massive pillbox at school or work. We know the feeling of being treated differently, and having to compromise because the products available are cheap and ineffective. My team and I create the products we wish we’d had – functional and stylish apparel and accessories that you can wear with confidence  – and content that can help you get through the good times and the bad. We are calling it Wellness Wear™!

What motivated you to become an entrepreneur? Is having your own business something you always wanted to have?

How did you come up with your business idea? What inspired you?: I started my business because of a cut-off sock, a cute hockey player, and an 8 AM finance class… and a PICC Line (a long-term IV). I went undiagnosed with chronic Lyme disease for 7 years and I became so sick that I needed to do 3 infusions a day while at school and I needed something to protect my PICC line. This inspired my team and me to launch our first product, the PICCPerfect® PICC Line Cover, while we were students at Babson College. Mighty Well® was started once we began to grow beyond our proof of concept. We have created a brand platform that goes beyond the needs of a single market and instead focuses on the needs of the $40 billion global market opportunity that we are penetrating.

What were you doing before this?

Full time student at Babson College with a scholarship for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership.

What are your short/long term goals?

  1. Pioneer the “wearable wellness” industry in order to change the perception of patients from victims to fighters.

  2. Create and execute an innovative paid digital media strategy that provides useful resources and connects patients and their caregivers in more meaningful ways than the currently available platforms.

  3. Transform the experience of being a patient through innovative and functional products that make daily life easier.

What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?

I was recruited to work at The Commercial Observer in NYC after I graduated from college. A glamorous media job with high salary would be most people’s dreams, but I declined the opportunity after I was accepted in MassChallenge and I knew I would soon need another PICC line.

How far are you willing to go to succeed?

I represent the ⅓ of Americans who suffer from an illness; however, I do not let my diagnosis define me. I am more than a name on a chart or a condition on a medical ID tag. I am Mighty Well and my mission is to transform the lives of patients and caregivers around the world so they, too, can live their best lives!

How do you keep yourself motivated when you can’t keep going anymore?

Naps and speaking to customers whose lives we have changed for the better!
