I started a clean skincare brand called Romer Skincare. I left my job on Wall Street to create the line because I wanted a simple and consistent solution to get better skin. I created effective eco-friendly products that our customers can trust. Every ingredient and step of our supply chain has been carefully vetted. With just a click, you can go online and purchase our three-step regimen that can be shared with a partner regardless of gender, skin type or background. I now spend less time trying new products and more time on the things that matter. I’m continuing to build a community around my brand and help others discover the joy of healthy, beautiful skin.

I stay motivated by… goal-setting and accomplishing those goals.

Three adjectives that describe me are… motivated, organized, and silly.

If I could have dinner with one person it would be… Martin Luther King Jr. because given we live in a world of increasing hate rhetoric and vitriol, I would love to have a one on one personal conversation with him to better understand where he derived his strength and patience and courage to continue advocating for change through peaceful protest.

The most exciting innovation to me is… mobile technology – I’m always on the go and being able to operate my business from anywhere is a great advancement!

How did you come up with your business idea? What inspired you?

My skin was at its breaking point. I wanted a simple regimen that worked, removed the hassle of daily life, and had clean, high quality ingredients that could be shared by both me and my now husband who both have sensitive skin. I’ve always been a problem solver and come from a line of strong women in my family who believe they can affect real change. I’d had enough of the BS, so I set out to build a simplified but effective skincare regimen that could be used by all genders and skin types.

How do you generate new ideas to stay relevant on the market?

Is it important to innovate in your space? I’m an outsider which is how I’m shaking the beauty industry. The benefit is that I know what my consumer wants and needs. Coming from Wall Street, I’m very direct. My customers want products that are simple yet effective! Innovation is crucial. Not only do our products work for you, they work for your partner too!

Do you have a fixed work routine? Is it important to have one? Any tips for our readers?

Every day is different when you manage your own business and being an entrepreneur is 24/7. For me, I start my morning walking the dog and clearing my head. After that, it’s coffee and a full breakfast and then I’m pretty much full speed ahead for the rest of the day. While that routine works for me, only you know how to create the most effective work environment for you! My advice no matter what you do – drink water, get a lot of sleep, have a great skincare routine, and

Who is the one super successful person you look up to? Why them? Can you share their quote/ideology that inspires you the most?

I really look up to Sara Blakely. She used to sell fax machines door to door! She bootstrapped her business, she’s a mom of 4, an absolute boss of an amazing brand and she focuses on elevating women. I love this quote of hers: Don't be intimidated by what you don't know. That can be your greatest strength and ensure that you do things differently from everyone else.
