The Importance Of Celebrating Women’s History Month
We should celebrate the amazing contributions of women globally every day of the year, but we take some extra time in March for Women’s History Month. From leading the way in technological advances, scientific discoveries to being pioneers in civil rights and pushing for gender equality women have been there for each other in the most pivotal times in history. Women have consistently risen to the occasion despite facing unique challenges such as balancing family life and building new businesses or climbing the corporate ladder.
At WERULE we made it our mission to recognize their legacy and celebrate their achievements. We’re far away from achieving gender equality, but we always try to do our best and keep on trying to break all the glass ceilings out there. We should all be proud of the accomplishments we have achieved and recognize the importance of supporting each other along the way. Throughout Women’s History Month and beyond, let’s make sure that we celebrate women and their achievements no matter how big or small.

WERULE’s Women’s History Month Event Highlight
We’d like to express our sincerest thank you and gratitude to the attendees of our annual Women’s Month Event held in NYC in collaboration with Rose Deonarine. The room was filled with inspiring, successful women including business owners, politicians, community organizers, CEOs and more. Our keynote speakers were District Attorney Melinda Katz, Assemblywoman Jennifer Rajkumar, Ebony Young Queens Borough Deputy President and Senator Joe Addabbo Jr.
This year's theme is "Women Who Tell Our Stories". We honored three striking women who do just that. Our honorees were: Maria K. Singh, Dana Mathura & Claudia P. Marulanda.
Women’s Month is very important to our community because we get to appreciate, celebrate and honor amazing women in our lives. We get to promote their businesses, shout out their work, and look back at women who shaped us in the past.
