Bunny Yan created an app where designers can find free material nearby on the app & list their own leftover fabrics, trimmings and buttons for others to create with
At the ‘Squirrelz’, we believe in reducing waste through creativity. Our current project is a FREE material sharing app for designers. Designers can find free material nearby on the app and list their own leftover fabrics, trimmings and buttons for others to create with. Save money and the environment!

What do you think of the stereotype that entrepreneurs are workaholics?
Entrepreneurs needs to be workaholics: we are working to accomplish and build our vision with little to no funding. This means we have to bust our behinds to survive, but I do try to take the occasional time for myself to engage in fun, free activities near me.
Is there one “rookie mistake” that new entrepreneurs keep on making? What is it? Did it happen to you?
There are so many entrepreneur pit falls! Hire too fast, fire too slow, lack a clear team goal, shift to a wrong focus… It doesn't matter how many times you hear about other people making these mistakes, the best way to learn and move forward is to mess up yourself and make sure to learn from it.
What is failure? Do you think it’s a crucial step to success?
Failure is a 'glass half empty' kinda thing for me. If you fall down, you get up and keep on going. Whatever you did before just becomes a necessary step for you to be where you want to be later.
Do you believe that there is one specific formula for success? What does it mean to be a successful business owner?
Everyone’s formula is different, because everyone is different and everyone's goals are different. Even the meaning of being successful changes from person to person. For me it’s getting through the low points when I just want to quit and, after calming down, knowing that what I do really makes me happy.
