I stay motivated by… The women + mother’s we empower through The Bloom Method

Three adjectives that describe me are… Passionate, Driven, Loyal

If I could have dinner with one person it would be… Martin Luther King Jr. because I’d want to sit in his presence for several moments and simply experience his energy. I’d love to ask him how he persevered against all the hatred, all the challenges. I want to know his secret to staying passionate around his devotion to the movement he led despite the incredible challenges + hardships he dealt with. I’d then thank him for his drive, his passion, his ability to inspire so many and of course pay for dinner :)

The most exciting innovation to me is… The innovation around pre + postnatal fitness gets me pretty excited for obvious reasons. Through thinking outside the box, we’ve been able to lead women into a more empowering space during their motherhood journey. Shifting the narrative away from the weakness that is pregnancy and postpartum to one that celebrates the strength and empowerment that women carry, especially as they are giving life and stepping into motherhood.

The Bloom Method is redefining fitness for pregnancy, postpartum, and modern motherhood. Through innovative techniques, breath, and dynamic movement based practices, Bloom is changing the way we approach movement, prepare + train for birth, and restrengthen our bodies postpartum. Our most recent launch with our Bloom app, Studio Bloom (in 2018) brings a new level of fitness and empowering motherhood resources into the living rooms of women around the world allowing us to guide women through modern day embodiment practices, and life changing techniques in the comfort of their own homes throughout pregnancy and as early as 1 day postpartum!

The Bloom Method isn’t your mama’s pre or postnatal workout, we’ll challenge you in sweaty new ways while shifting the way you connect to your body for life! You see, the old way wasn’t working so we redefined pre + postnatal fitness to inspire real change, real results, and really powerful experiences.

What motivated you to become an entrepreneur? Is having your own business something you always wanted?

I constantly refer to myself as an accidental entrepreneur, a woman with a desire to create change through an unstoppable passion. I took the leap into the unknown in hopes to create a shift in the way expecting + postpartum women moved in their bodies, felt about their bodies, and experienced their bodies in the most powerful transformation in our lives. My motivation continues to be the mother’s of the world and the deep desire to shift the stories we’ve been told about what we are capable of.

How do you generate new ideas to stay relevant on the market? Is it important to innovate in your space?

The Bloom Method was built around innovation and the aspects of this method are often described as cutting-edge and innovative. I wanted to create a method that provided a different path than what was out there. A method that would continue to give back to the individual years after she had moved onto other forms of fitness + movement. We are always learning and searching for ways to remain creative within what we offer in our online studio and how it can continue to cultivate innovative energy that pushes boundaries. I believe that when we stop being innovative we become complacent leading to a lack of empowerment over our pregnancies, postpartum experiences, and modern motherhood.

What do you think about company culture? What are some of your tips on being a good leader?

Ensuring that each of my coaches, employees, and the experts that we collaborate with feel valued is incredibly important to me. I strive to constantly bring their value to light, I work hard to create space that allows them to show up for Bloom where they feel the most vibrant, the most helpful, while enjoying their work the most! If we don’t value the individuals that keep our businesses thriving, how do we expect our visions to take shape and expand out into the world? Valuing your team is a vital component to creating a team full of driven individuals that help bring your biggest visions to life.

A successful company is in an incredibly motivated, and passionate team, a team that believes in your work as passionately as you do.

Steve Jobs didn’t create apple by himself - we are all stronger and more impactful together. Surrounding yourself with authentic, powerhouse women, provides the space for you to rise up into the leader you were destined to be.

What is your biggest dream? Why?

I see The Bloom Method as a leader in the massive shift that is currently happening around pre + postnatal care. The Bloom Method will be one of the most sought after fitness method by moms and health care professionals so that we can begin to change the messaging around women’s bodies during and post pregnancy. Women deserve more than “listen to your body” or a laundry list of fear based advice to guide them into motherhood.

I hope that The Bloom Method is one of the many solutions to empowering women in their bodies, in their births, in the way they health and restrengthen postpartum, and the way they move their bodies for life.
