I love pen and paper! Studies found that you become more likely to achieve your goals/dreams by simply writing them down on a regular basis. Out of this love and many years of making my own planners, The Simply Yours Day Planner was born. My Inspiration came from working in management and having to create systems, organization, and structure just to get things done timely. As women, our responsibilities are enormous with our careers, family, community involvement and self-care practices. Using the Simply Yours Day Planner will assist you with keeping everything organized and everything in one place. Each Planner comes with worksheets, for vacation planning, journaling, things to remember and an entire section for creating and writing your goals/dreams just to name few.
What motivated you to become an entrepreneur? Is having your own business something you always wanted to have?
Becoming an Entrepreneur is something I desired to do for as long as I could remember. I was bogged down with fear and multiple responsibilities that stopped me from taking that first step. My biggest motivation was a desire to share and help. There are many women in my shoes right now who has difficulty with creating, prioritizing, planning and organizing all those amazing ideas in their heads. I wanted to create something to help them through this process.
What are your short/long term goals?
Short Term Goals: 1. Completing a Wedding Planner for the bride that wants to keep all those amazing details and planning ideas for her special day organized and in one place.
Long Term Goals: Creating a small foundation that gives Journals to hospitalized men, women, and children who are fighting Cancer. Hoping to inspire them to write about their journey, emotions and day-to-day matters.
Who is the one super successful person you look up to? Why them? Can you share their quote/ideology that inspires you the most?
One person that I admire the most is Oprah Winfrey. Oprah is one of the main reasons why I started this entrepreneurial journey. In 2015, my husband and I attended Oprah Winfrey’s life you want weekend tour in Washington DC. She talked about creating the life you want to live and removing the hurdles that are blocking you. That weekend was a turning point for me as I began to dig deeper into my hopes and dreams. When the weekend was coming to an end and everyone was leaving the stadium, Oprah asked us to stop and stated: “ Once you leave, return home, and take action, your life will begin to change”. Her words sent chills thru me and I knew then, I was ready.
My favorite quote from Oprah which is currently and will always be on my office wall is:
“CREATE THE HIGHEST, GRANDEST VISION FOR YOUR LIFE.
THEN LET EVERY STEP MOVE YOU IN THAT DIRECTION”

What were you doing before this? How did it prepare you for the entrepreneurial life?
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, I worked full time as an Occupational Therapist. Having worked in the field for 14 plus years as a hands-on therapist and in management, I've helped countless amounts of individuals and families create, set and achieve their short and long-term goals. I have an understanding of how the organization, functional systems and a well thought out plan are key to balancing all the things' life throws at us. Having such a detailed oriented profession where I had to create systems for day to day tasks has prepared me to become an entrepreneur. As I transition to this new phase of my life, I carry over the compassion, discipline, organization, creativity, and resourcefulness that’s needed to grow a successful business and for that I am thankful.
