Neelu Kaur sattvic living we rule werule

My purpose is to leave every individual, team and organization happier, healthier and more productive by harmonizing mind, body and spirit.  There are three aspects to my business (sattviclivingny.com):  Adult Learning, Coaching & Wellness. On the Adult Learning side, I assist organizations by creating customized leadership development curriculum and teach various classes.  Coaching:  I coach individuals to be happier and healthier: Topics include but not limited to: growth in their current role, transitioning to a new role, interpersonal issues, small business owners transitioning from working in large corporations, and women returning to the workplace after a leave of absence. Wellness:  I teach yoga, meditation, pranayama (breath control) all rooted in the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in wellness centers / yoga studios throughout the US. In addition, I launched my own line of essential oil based Ayurvedic products found at neelukaur.com.

Do you have hobbies? What are they? Is it important to take “time off”?

When you absolutely love what you do, it never feels like work.  My life is composed of a basket of everything I love to do:  Teach, Coach, Research, Write, Yoga, Ayurveda, Beauty & Skincare. Taking time off for me, is to walk aimlessly in nature without a goal or destination in mind.  When I am not walking in nature, I am spending time in Sephora or reading online beauty blogs understanding the latest skincare and beauty trends.

What made you choose this type of business?

I made a conscious choice to fill my life with everything I love ---   I love to teach, so I teach Leadership Development Curriculum, Yoga, Ayurveda.  I love to research and write, so I research and write professional development content for very large organizations.  I love to Coach, so I have coaching clients at companies like Google, NBC, E&Y..etc.  I love Yoga and Ayurveda, so I have spent over 10 years studying and teaching Yoga.  I love beauty and essential oils, so I launched my own line of Ayurvedic Essential Oil Blends.  One life in this body, so I will do everything I love to do!

How has being an entrepreneur affected your life? How did it change the way you think about life?

Because time is finite, I realize as an entrepreneur that is is my responsibility to make the best use of my time at every given point.  When I am not working on client work, teaching, writing, coaching, I am recharging my own battery so I can serve others better.

What is failure? Do you think it’s a crucial step to success?

Failure is underselling yourself.  When you believe you are deserving, the universe provides.  When you believe you have everything you need to go out in the world and make a difference, you will.  Your mind can destroy you--limiting beliefs will cause failure.  When you learn to control the mind, success is soon to follow.
