How do you keep yourself motivated when you can’t keep going anymore?
When I experience high levels of burn out, I make sure I check in with myself. I just came back from a 3-day weekend conference for coaches. It’s Monday morning and I made sure that I didn’t set any appointments for the entire day today. This allows me to recharge and refocus on my goals and vision of my company. Self-care is so important when you feel like you can’t keep going.
Is it important to set goals or is it better to just “go with the flow”? What is your strategy?
I believe in both. It’s important to have a vision and create goals that get you closer to turning your vision into reality. I also believe in going with the flow at times. Because I have an entrepreneurial spirit, I tend to have a lot of great ideas that pop out through the day. This is when I do a personal assessment and see which ideas are worth pursuing and which ideas are worth putting aside.
What part of your personality helped you the most with your entrepreneurial journey?
I consider myself as a very driven person. Because of this drive, I believe this has helped me the most in my journey as a woman entrepreneur. When the going gets tough and when I experience days of uncertainty, I always fall back on being driven to design a meaningful and purposeful life. This is what keeps me going.
What does success mean to you? What does it mean to “be successful”? Can it ever be fully achieved or is it something that comes and goes?
Success means two things for me: 1) Being awake in the moment and 2) Living each and every day in alignment with my values. As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to get caught up with all the tasks and projects that need to be accomplished that you forget about your values andI made a personal commitment to myself when I started my company to live in alignment with my values and to be awake in the moment.
What is one (or more) piece of advice you can offer our readers and other entrepreneurs that are reading your interview? What is the most important to keep in mind?
It’s all about mindset. You are the only person that has the key to unlocking success and happiness in life. My best advice that I can share with you is to commitment to having a growth mindset. To know that with every situation and every person that you interact with is an opportunity for you to grow, learn, and design the life you desire.
