BASED IN: AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS
What do you do? What is the idea of your business?
I am the founder of NiQOO, currently living in beautiful Amsterdam.
NiQOO is an online gallery offering photography & illustrations globally. We scout and select talented young international artists to join our online platform. NiQOO takes care of promotion, printing and selling their art such that they can focus on doing what they love; making it. We make the artists work shine by using high quality materials, my personal favorite is acrylic glass print!
What is different about your approach?
NiQOO’s concept is not only to provide an opportunity to artists who want to be seen and show their talents, but also offer art lovers stunning and affordable digital artworks with premium quality prints, making it simple for them to enjoy the glory of art in their homes.
How did your previous experience help you with creating your business?
I had various business-related experiences in the past few years and I have studied MBA, which gave me a good overview of business strategy making and planning. My background in sales and marketing helps me a lot in my business development. As a marketing manager, I was responsible for managing company’s website and social media which helped me a lot to build niqoo.com by myself.
Can you do it on your own or do you need people supporting you?
Currently, I am working on my own. But generally, speaking I am a type of person who gets a lot of energy and inspiration from other people around. Recently, I rented a desk in a coworking space, which helps me a lot to share knowledge and knowhow with other entrepreneurs.
Is it important to “dream big”? What is your dream for your business?
HELL YES, DREAM BIG!
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt
We strive to create the best platform to connect young talented artists with the people looking for high quality affordable art all over the world. One of my big passions is to find artists from countries with less opportunities and help them to grow.
What do you think should be done when creating a business: Changing it around as you go or sticking with the original idea as much as you can?
Flexibility is the key for small companies and I truly believe in being open about changes and testing different ideas and analyze the results. As an individual, it is impossible to come up with a concrete formula and plan for your business. So the best is to set a platform in which you can execute and test several ideas, and take things from there.
What is the best advice you can give to another entrepreneur?
Always have short and long term goals on your way. This helps you to have a clear view of your direction and every now and then review your goals.
