BASED IN: NEW YORK
Designing, developing and manufacturing so many different products for our clients is a natural extension of everything I have been doing in my Design career over the last 20 years in New York City. I started as a fashion stylist here and have always found Manhattan to be the perfect canvas on which to create. There is always a hum on the streets here, a hum that gets into your veins, and motivates you to bring to fruition a dream. I share that passion with every new client I meet.
My experience styling for clients like Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, In Style and a bevy of similar fashion magazines has taught me that sometimes the trends being depicted are not what consumers really want over time. By being able to shape the fashion trend of the moment in my styling career, I have learned how to help our clients tailor and develop products that have tremendous appeal in the marketplace. As a manufacturer myself of my own line of handbags found at ClutchBags.com, I have learned the trade secrets in sourcing materials, designing products, and creating good profit margins. This has helped our clients return to us again and again with their manufacturing, design and product development needs. Made in USA pays!
What do you do?
We help people bring their ideas to life.
How is your business different from your competitors?
We are the factory you can talk to.
If someone is starting a business is it important to figure out the need that the market has?
The market always has a need for a new product. It is either creating the need, or creating the audience. Creating any product is joyful, really. It is like being a surrogate mother. Birthing a new product is ALWAYS exciting. We love what we do.
What is the importance of surrounding yourself with positive people who are excited about your vision?
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most important, it is a 12. POSITIVE people with GREAT VISION. And I might add ENDLESS ENERGY mixed with bountiful CREATIVITY.
Does that translate into the hiring process as well?
What is the big dream for your company?
Clutch Made Factories in major urban areas around the USA.
What is one thing you will have to keep in mind while considering the expansion?
Skilled workers/crafts people
Will you have to perfect the current business model?
Of course. Perfection is a journey.
Is it already there?
We are within the journey now.
Would you want to start other businesses in the future or grow this one as much as possible?
I will grow this business until the day I see my dream completely living and breathing on its own. Then I will start another business that benefits children around the world.
Can you give us one piece of advice (inspiring message) that resonates with you the most?
Do not fear. Persevere.
