What is the mission of Financial Concierge?
To provide clients and their families with peace of mind around day to day management of their personal financial affairs while maintaining their safety, dignity and independence.
Offer four service plans including bill payment, document organization, personal CFO and estate administration.
What motivated you to become an entrepreneur?
I have always been a round peg in a square hole. I have boundless energy and enthusiasm. I am passionate about client service. I need to do what I believe is the right thing at the right time for the right reasons.
How did you come up with your business idea? What inspired you?
I was approached by a client in 2012 with a conundrum. His parents lived on the east coast and needed help with day to day financial matters. There was no where to turn for assistance. Mel had developed a full proposal on the service needed. No investment management firm was interested in providing the service. When I was “released” from my financial advisor role early in 2018, I could now take the idea and run with it. Mel remains my trusted advisor.
What were you doing before this? How did it prepare you for the entrepreneurial life?
I have worked in a multitude of areas: healthcare, insurance, Starbucks, financial services. As a nurse, I developed a commitment to informed consent. As a barista, I experienced true team work and recognition. In the insurance world, I developed a clear, concise, objective communication style. As a financial advisor, I recognized the need for increased financial literacy. Personally, I have always been organized, efficient and internally motivated.
