What do you do?
I run Deeper Than Fashion, an online jewelry store that focuses on wearable art thats both handmade and handpicked. My aim is to let everyone have a little bit of magic to wear that can completely transform a look. I would say that my brand represents my personal style as well; colourful, quirky & more often than not, over the top.
How do you keep yourself motivated when you can’t keep going anymore?
The key to being motivated is being happy. On days I don't feel like I can keep going, I take the time off to rejuvenate and get back on track. It could be something as easy as spending time with people I love or an impromptu staycation. The idea is to be in a good place with yourself in order to be able to give it your very best.
Is it important to set goals or is it better to just “go with the flow”? What is your strategy?
I'm a little bit of both. I think more than anything balance is an important aspect to it all. There should be goals set with realistic time frames, but also you have to be flexible as the Universe never fully works the way you want it to and going with the flow is crucial at these points. Balance is the best strategy.
What part of your personality helped you the most with your entrepreneurial journey?
My ability to look for the silver lining. More often than not, I take everything with a pinch of salt and this helps when it comes to negative situations and problems.
What does success mean to you? What does it mean to “be successful”? Can it ever be fully achieved or is it something that comes and goes?
To me, success means being happy, and being able to be in control of my time, life and what I want to do. I think success can be fully achieved, its just a matter of perspective of what you think being successful is. I consider myself successful because I get to wake up and do what I love on a daily basis.
What is one (or more) piece of advice you can offer other entrepreneurs?
The best advice I've been given and I would personally pass along is to try to be the best version of yourself on a daily basis. Instead of focusing on competing with someone else, it's more important to look at who you are and how you can further elevate yourself as a human being. Another one I hold close to me is work hard and stay humble.
