Success means… having the courage and determination to achieve goals and dreams.
The best thing about being an entrepreneur is… the ability to turn ideas into real things.
You can’t run a business without… creativity.
In the next 10 years I wish to be… running a content marketing agency with a remote work travel program.
I’m Ana, a creative and analytically-driven digital marketing professional with over 6 years of experience in social media, content marketing and brand growth. Currently I work as a creative and marketing consultant, helping companies improve brand visibility and target market reach through social strategy, content creation and optimization, influencer marketing, social advertising and more. I also run the co-lab project Content Lab NYC, where I direct and produce social content for fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands. My passion for staying on top of cultural trends and technological advances is what drives me in my everyday work.
Do you have hobbies? What are they?
Yes, I do have hobbies. One of my favorite ones is photography. Years ago, I took a photography class in Sao Paulo, and started to take photos every time I was traveling. I also started to use this tool for work once in a while, developing creative content for my clients. Two years ago, I bought a nicer camera and some lenses. Since I moved to New York, I like to take some of my days off to explore the city photographing beautiful things.
Is it important to take “time off” and focus on other things such as friends, family, hobbies etc.?
Taking time off is essential to run a business. We all need balance in life - and friends, family and hobbies are extremely important for our happiness. I never heard about unhappy people running successful businesses.
What do you think of the stereotype that entrepreneurs are workaholics?
Today’s entrepreneurs are no longer workaholic. They are passionate about their work, but they seek balance and happiness in all areas in their lives.
What made you choose this type of business? Why? What other markets are you interested in?
It was a long journey. I started my career exploring internships and entry-level jobs in fashion. I found my passion for content creation after an internship with the Fashion Snoops’ content team. My passion for content and social media was already evident in my life - I had a personal blog in the 1990s, joined Twitter and Instagram before most of my friends, and used old tools to share content before Tumblr generation. Today, I mostly work with visual content creation, but I’d love to explore the film industry. I want to create web series for fashion and beauty brands.
