Success means… living your best life, on your terms.
The best thing about being an entrepreneur is… being the architect of your own happiness.
You can’t run a business without… integrity.
In the next 10 years I wish to be… happy, healthy, and more enlightened than I am today.

Do you have hobbies? What are they? Is it important to take “time off” and focus on other things such as friends, family, hobbies etc.? What do you think of the stereotype that entrepreneurs are workaholics?
I believe balance is key to success and navigating challenges that arise. Consequently, I take frequent vacations and unplug when necessary. As it allows me recalibrate and develop new ideas. Some of my hobbies include writing, pilates, yoga, exploring museums and art shows, watching thought-provoking documentaries, watching every episode of Batman, watching every Superhero movie (yes, I'm a nerd) and exploring new vegan recipes and restaurants. Additionally, I spend time with my family as often as possible.
I've learned to eliminate things in my life that don't add value, or are superfluous. As such, building my business is important however it is secondary to my overall mental and spiritual wellness, and my family. The idea that being an entrepreneur requires one to be a workaholic is flawed and self-destructive. We live in a society where quantity and output take precedence over wellness, I reject that notion. Creativity flows when one is unrestricted and free to think clearly. Working more efficiently, and taking the time to be present will carry one much further in business and in life than the latter.
Is there one “rookie mistake” that new entrepreneurs keep on making? What is it? Did it happen to you?
The rookie mistake that many entrepreneurs make is not putting legal barriers in place to protect their idea. Great ideas can only be monetized if they are protected from brand infringement. Safeguarding your assets and brand are paramount in the success of your great idea. Whether it's forming the correct business entity or trademarking your brand or service, protecting all of your hard work is imperative in its long term success.
What made you choose this type of business? Why? What other markets are you interested in?
I chose this type of business because of my passion for elevating and celebrating diverse entrepreneurs. My experience navigating challenges as a new entrepreneur inspired me to create a platform that made information easily accessible, ensuring other entrepreneurs are able to quickly navigate hurdles on their journey to success. Additionally, my background in digital marketing and the growth of the digital industry inspired me to focus my programs on driving awareness and monetization strategies for entrepreneurs across all digital channels. Eventually, I'm looking to grow the brand globally particularly in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.
What is failure? Do you think it’s a crucial step to success?
Failure is being afraid to fail, and not learning from one's mistakes. Challenges are simply a part of life, and they are crucial to success because they build character and resilience. All of the "no's" I've encountered and setbacks only served as fuel to drive me closer to my goal. Moreover, they've added more texture to my life story and allow me to appreciate this journey even more.
How as being an entrepreneur affected your life? How did it change the way you think about life?
Being an entrepreneur has increased my confidence and allowed me further develop my critical thinking skills. Life as an entrepreneur requires you to constantly develop creative solutions to challenging problems, often with limited resources. As such, when I encounter challenges in my day to day life rarely am I rattled. Many people do not realize that the greatest tool we have at our disposal are our minds. Oftentimes we retreat to the path of least resistance, or acquiesce before realizing our goals, because we don't maximize our greatest resource - ourselves.
Do you believe that there is one specific formula for success? What does it mean to be a successful business owner?
No, there is no one specific formula for success, however discipline and balance are key elements to achieving one's goals. Being a successful business owner is providing a service or product that contributes to the betterment of humanity, while also providing stable income for yourself and future generations.
